Pure scaling operators at the integer quantum Hall plateau transition

I will discuss recent progress on the long-standing question of identifying the conformal field theory describing the integer quantum Hall plateau transition. I will describe how to circumvent the fact that conductances do not show pure scaling behavior, and identify a new family of scattering observables corresponding to n-point functions of conformal primary fields. I will present numerical results for 2 and 3 point functions allowing in particular to measure efficiently the multifractal spectrum of transport quantities. These results will be motivated analytically by constructing lattice pure scaling operators in the supersymmetric vertex model describing the plateau transition. Applications of our methods to other Anderson transitions will be also discussed. This is joint work in collaboration with D. Wieczorek (Cologne) and M. Zirnbauer (Cologne).
